Build on April 1, 1970, this Dodge Challenger T/A runs strong and offers a lot of torque backed power with its matching number 340cc V8 290 HP with Six Pack (3 Holley 2 BBL carburetors) engine which is # matching to the VIN and original to the car.
This MOPAR is a real pleasure to drive and runs tight and right with its upgraded T/A racing suspension, smooth shifting 727 automatic SlapStik transmission, and 3.
55 Sure Grip rear end - both of which are also original to the car.
The odometer shows 36,150 miles.
The car was manufactured in the Hamtramck, MI plant on April 1, 1970.
The matching numbers 340 T/A engine block was manufactured by the daytime shift in November of 1969.
This MOPAR is in very good original condition, having been more Preserved rather than Restored over the years.
The original metal sheet metal body panels are very straight with just a few barely noticeable scratch marks and very minor dents.
The original Plum Crazy (FC&) paint still shows very well and shines nicely.
There is slight blistering and chips in the area of the rocker panels in front of the rear wheels.
Due to the spilling of brake fluid during an engine rebuild in 1998, the 4th owner decided to have the engine compartment repainted, which is now very clean and in excellent condition.
The engine was rebuilt by Dave Wheeler of Davenport, IA.
There are signs that there has been some work done to the interior and trunk - both of which are in great condition! There is some wear to the steering wheel and very light tarnish/pitting to floor SlapStik console plate.
The glass is in great condition, as is the chrome on the front and rear bumpers, as well as the chrome Rally Wheels - suggesting they may have been replaced.
The floorboards are in very solid condition, and the undercarriage is solid and in good condition, with some wear, grease, and dirt marks as to be expected from a car that has not been fully restored.
Based on the detailed information presented to me from the previous owner, this MOPAR is a five (5) owner car, with me as the fifth owner.
The four (4) owners previous to me are as follows:
Doug C, out of Benton, KY, who owned the car from 1970 until around 1980.
Johnny G, out of Marion, IL, who owned the car until 1989.
Mark R, out of Canton, OH, who owned the car from 1989 to 1991.
Brian R, out of Bentondorf, IA, who owned the car from 1991 to 2021.
The information provided is presented to the best of my knowledge.
The Buyer of the car is encouraged to conduct a thorough review to validate the information presented.
In addition to the detailed information presented to me by the 4th owner of the car, as well as a detailed review of the car, some key factors that point to the originality of the body, paint, and sheet metal include the 3 dots on passenger side of firewall (indicating make by 3rd shift) and the body imperfections on A pillar where the roof was married to the car during the manufacturing process - both of which are frequently and mistakenly covered over during detailed body restorations.
The car is located an hour north of Grand Rapids, MI, and is available for review - including lifting the car up on a lift for a detailed review of the undercarriage.
Please contact Paul at 248-719-6776 if you should have any questions.
Thank you for your interest.
